July 3, 2017 Rain!

This week was wonderful!! It was transfers and I was called to serve in Oneida! My new Companions are Sister Green and Sister Fry. It has been crazy fun and spiritual being in this threesome! I am grateful and excited to work with both of them.

On Sunday I read Elder Uchtdorf's talk about "Perfect Love Casteth out Fear" Here are a bunch of parts that I really enjoyed; " The Lord has said that 'when we... exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness,... the heavens withdraw themselves and the spirit of the Lord is grieved.'"   This made me think of as missionaries, when we go around and try to use boldness without love or commit someone to make a change without promising them blessings and helping them understand the purpose behind it- the spirit is not there and things never go well.   "the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance." [Galatians 5:22-23]   When we have the spirit with us when we invite others to come unto Christ- they can feel the spirit and love, and desire to listen and obey.
Do not dwell on the evils of the world. 'God has given us an abundance of reasons to rejoice. We just need to find and recognize them.' we should not be ignorant about the world's challenges. ' But this does not mean that we should burden ourselves or others with constant fear.'   It is better to focus on Christ's ultimate power and the Lord's willingness to fight our battles than ponder about the things we have no control over.  There are a few people that we teach with anxiety- the idea that Christ has already won (John 16:33), and that all things will work out (D&C 90:24) should bring comfort and strength.
"Perfect Love casteth out all fear" (1 John 4:18
There is no fear in Christ's love.
If we center our lives and teachings on the Lord Jesus Christ, then what have we to fear? What in this world could ever take away our faith and our perfect knowledge that we are loved by a being who gave his life for us?
There is nothing that could ever get in the way of that. Basing relationships, and interactions on the joy of the Gospel and on the Love of Christ will allow for the spirit to perside, and miricles to happen.
I hope that everyone has a week full of Charity and patience for themselves and especially those around them who make it hard.
Have a wonderful week!
