May 7,2018 Attitude of Gratitude

This week has gone by so fast! We had two exchanges with some sisters and a Zone Conference meeting that we had to teach at. Truly it is amazing to look back on weeks like this and wonder how everything got done.
I have been studying Nephi and his outlook on life. Truly there must have been times when an outburst of anger would seem justified. But no matter what Nephi went through, he remained positive and with an Attitude of gratitude.
President Monson was an example of this;
"Sincerely giving thanks not only helps us recognize our blessings, but it also unlocks the doors of heaven and helps us feel God’s love.
If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues. Someone has said that “gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.
... to express gratitude is gracious and honorable, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live with gratitude ever in our hearts is to touch heaven." -The Divine Gift of Gratitude 2010.
One of the key aspects for even the great attribute of Humility is gratitude for our MANY blessings.
"If you are having a hard time feeling the spirit in your life- kneel down and offer up a prayer of gratitude. By the end the spirit will be with you." - President Rogers

I am So grateful for all that I have been given. For my companions, the strength and vigor of my body and mind this past year, the love and support from my parents and leaders, the sunshine that warms me from the sun, and also the warmth that fills me from The Son.
I hope we are all able to recognize more the tender mercies of the Lord and give thanks to Him who gave us everything.
