This Sunday was a miracle! We started the day with having found no investigators all week, and after a full day ended with 6 new investigators! All of them were formers that we had found during exchanges!

What does 'Easter' mean to you?

Why was the Atonement Necessary?

Acts 4:12- "there is none other name, under heaven given among me, whereby we may be saved."

Why Christ's name? It is God's plan...

Alma 34:9-11-"It is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the eternal God there must be an atonement made... it must be an infinite and eternal sacrifice... Now there is not any man that can sacrifice his won blood which will atone for the sins of another."

One cannot pay justice by paying for the sins of another. The atonement is necessary because without it we would be subject to the devil (2 Nephi 9:7-9) and would never have the opportunity to be forgiven.

Only Christ was universally loved. Only Christ could be perfect enough to have the love and ability to go through with all that was asked. It was only He who could suffer enough for every sense of compassion in all of us and the Father to be touched. It is not because of our righteousness that we are saved, it is after all that we can do to follow Christ and become His. (2 Nephi 25:23)

In a talk I listened to this week it mentioned a story; Abe Lincoln was signing a death warrant for a young man who had fallen asleep at his post and was the cause of over a hundred deaths. A little mother walked into his office and pleaded with him, for her sake to let him go. She said that at the start of the war she had a husband and 6 sons. One by one they had all gone off to serve the country and had been killed. All but one. President Lincoln gave the mother her request. Was justice robbed? No. But mercy was also given.

Christ pleads our cause if we are His. We will be forgiven and receive the gifts of the atonement as we follow Him.

What does Easter mean to me?

That God has a perfect plan for us His children to become even as He is. It all is centered around His Son.

He Lives.

In Conference this Easter Weekend I know that we will hear His voice through His apostles.

May we all listen for the personal council that He will provide so we can follow Him and stay on the path to live with our Heavenly Father again.
